Decking Pirates

An elderly British couple recounted their scrape with pirates as they sought compensation for their ruined cruise back in 2009.

The couple told how they joined other passengers in hurled deckchairs at Somali pirates who peppered the “MSC Melody” with machine gun fire.

John Jeffery, 65, was eventually hit twice – one bullet grazing his leg, another leaving shrapnel lodged inside him.
