Pirates have reportedly failed in two attacks on vessels off Singapore and Indonesia over the weekend.

They unsuccessfully attacked the US-owned bulker “Woodstar” (built 2008) off Pulau Batam on Friday.

Then on Saturday, the 300-dwt tug “Octopus” (built 2009), was attacked 14 nautical miles northeast of Horsburgh Lighthouse.

A crewmember saw three men armed with long knives boarding from a black speedboat.
