An Italian tanker seized by pirates in the Gulf of Guinea off Benin earlier this week has been freed.
The “RBD Anema e Core” with a crew of 23 on board has reportedly been abandoned by the pirates.
The vessel which was carrying diesel fuel is now moving to a safe location. The crew made up of Italians, Filipinos and Romanians are all reported to be safe.
