Forced Argument

The use of military means to free hijacked ships in the Gulf of Aden off the Somalia coast, though successful, has resulted in “retaliative” action.

According to one expert a comprehensive approach is required to deal with the piracy problem.

Military action has been lauded by the media, but there has been collateral damage. For instance, the master of “MV Samho Jewelry” was shot in the process of rescue and the deaths of the American civilians onboard the yacht “Quest” were also caught up in a military response.
