Task Force
The 31st Summit of Heads of State of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) is expected to endorse a regional strategy to eliminate piracy in the western Indian Ocean.
The strategy will take immediate effect, and Tanzania, Mozambique and South Africa – who have set up a task force of their navy commanders to spearhead the strategy, will work closely with other support groups.
