Asian Calls

According to a report from Lloyd’s List, the Asian Shipowners’ Forum Safe Navigation & Environment Committee has joined in calls  to the UN to take action to curb the scourge of piracy.

The Asian shipowners are reportedly “angry and frustrated by the ongoing attacks”, and so the pirates seemingly free to roam the Indian Ocean at will attacking and hijacking ships, the ASF has endorsed the formation of a UN anti–piracy military task force.

They believe that an armed force of UN military guards should be deployed in small detachments onboard merchant ships to protect them during their transits through the Indian Ocean.
