What happens why the crew from hijacked ships are taken ashore, separated from the vessel and the bonds to their K&R insurance?

According to Lloyd’s List the trend for separating crews from vessels, holding them to ransom ashore is set to worsen.

This, it is believed will force P&I Clubs to adopt a more significant role in covering piracy.
