Pirate Hostage Comes Home

George Lipih Ambo, a Malaysian who was kidnapped by pirates in the Gulf of Guinea, Nigeria and held for 20 days had never thought he would able to return home and be reunited with his family.

Born in Sri Aman, Sarawak, Goerge Lipih Ambo, who was still in a state of trauma after being threatened with M16 rilfes during the entire 20 days of captivity, received an emotional welcome from his family when he arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at 2.45pm today.

“I want to thank God for saving me and also Malaysians who prayed for my safety and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for supporting my rescue.

“I am still in a trauma…I do not want to talk,” he said when approached by reporters upon his arrival.
