Ambrey Risk Launches New Training and Recruitment Website

Maritime security specialist, Ambrey Risk, based in Herefordshire UK, has launched a new training and recruitment website: http://www.ambreytraining.com/ outlining their extensive training programs and recruitment opportunities for security professionals, in addition to those wishing to enter the business. The launch is part of Ambrey’s continued commitment to offer an exceptional training and recruitment experience to their personnel. With training now a key wing of Ambrey’s business, this launch reflects the company’s determination to ensure that their trainees will be able to say with confidence that being ‘Ambrey trained’, is synonymous with being trained to the highest standards of maritime and land-based security excellence.

The new site lists all Ambrey courses in a clear and easy to follow format, providing the visitor with the ability to see costs and book online. Courses include the Ambrey Risk Security Professional, Close Protection course, STCW95 (All four mandatory modules), PTLLS (Teaching qualification) and the new 8269 City and Guilds Maritime Security Operative course, an award that all Maritime Security Operatives and Team Leaders will in future be required to have, in order to demonstrate that they have recognised standards of training.

The Ambrey training team are strong supporters of regulatory compliance in the Maritime Sector and work closely with all stakeholders, including the UK Government and the IMO, to influence the debate on a code of conduct for the Private Maritime Security Industry, in order to set minimum standards for regulatory compliance. Ambrey’s services are compliant with International Maritime Law and Conventions including UNCLOS, SUA and SOLAS and the ISPS code.

Whilst there is currently no regulatory code of conduct for the Private Maritime Security industry, Ambrey adheres to the following International guidance: International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Contractors (ICOC); The Security Association of the Maritime Industry (SAMI) STAGE 1 accredited; The Voluntary Principles of Human Rights, UN Basic Principles on the Use of Force & Firearms by Law Enforcement Officials.

Training Director, Mick Clifford OBE commented: “We have endeavored to make this website clear and easily usable for trainees to book a course which suits their needs. Whilst we will always ensure quality training here at Ambrey, we also offer recruitment opportunities to those trainees who perform well on our courses and match our deployment criteria based on current Ambrey vacancies. Ambrey Risk intends to set the benchmark for regulatory compliance and professionalism in Maritime Security training. We know that our assets are our people and reputation. In service we know that without the best people, we cannot be the best company, so in our training department we have selected highly respected, leading security industry training experts underpinned by impeccable careers in the military. We have a deep understanding of the issues facing service leavers and will always provide empathy with them. We focus on excellence in security training delivered to accredited and internationally recognised standards. This should ensure that our trainees have a global career in Private Security which is supported by well recognised certification.

“We know that we will never be the cheapest, but we hope to be the best provider in the sector. Ambrey has also recently registered to become an ELCAS provider allowing military and former military personnel to claim funds (Enhanced Learning Credits) for training through their respective resettlement funds. We anticipate we will become an approved supplier by the end of June 2013, allowing Service leavers to utilise their ELCs for our courses and encourage potential trainees to contact the Training Team directly if they would like to use their ELCs towards a course.” Stated Mick Clifford, Training Director.

Providing insight to the training experience Ambrey offers, Ian, ex WO1 Royal Marines, commented: “The training course was designed to comply with new training standards and compliance for those entering the Maritime Security Industry. It was delivered in a pragmatic, relaxed but authoritative manner by an experienced and knowledgeable instructor who went out of his way to connect with all experiences and backgrounds from those attending the course.”

Ambrey Risk is one of the leading Private Maritime Security companies specialising in Commercial Shipping and Oil and Gas installations, with a core focus on the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean, along with global land based security and risk mitigation tasks.
