A Maritime Sailor has died unexpectedly while on shore leave in the Indian Ocean.

A Maritime Sailor has died unexpectedly while on shore leave in the Indian Ocean.

The body of 33-year-old  Lt. Andrew F. Webster was discovered in a hotel room this afternoon in the Seychelles Islands.

Webster was from Dartmouth and based at CFB Halifax. He had been serving on board the HCMS Toronto, which has been part of counter-terrorism and anti-piracy operations in the Arabian Sea for most of the past year.
