Risk management firm launches new Nigerian office.

Guardian Global Resources Establishes in Nigeria

Following many months of preparation and substantial investment, Guardian Global Resources is proud to announce it has established a new Nigerian-based maritime security service offering.

Guardian’s COO, Michael Wingate, praised the move, noting that Nigeria is a “complex environment in which to operate”. He added: “We are delighted to have obtained all the necessary licences and approvals to offer a legal and credible security solution to the shipping industry in Nigerian Territorial Waters”.

Mr Wingate also noted that recent developments in Nigeria mean that, now more than ever, it is important that the shipping industry selects the correct security provider, having undergone a thorough due diligence process.

Background

Guardian was formed in 2007 as a bespoke Risk Management and Crisis Response company focusing on Private Client Services and family offices. Guardian quickly developed, offering a wider range of services and establishing itself in the commercial market servicing various multinational companies and organisations.

Due to the emerging threat of Somalia-based piracy and attacks on the offshore and STS industry in the Gulf of Guinea, Guardian established its maritime division in May 2011, utilising the extensive maritime experience of its founding members as a launch pad to provide security solutions to the shipping and offshore industry. In addition to providing security expertise to personnel and maritime assets along the Indian Ocean High Risk Area (HRA), Guardian has increased its presence along West Africa, with a particular focus on Nigeria, Togo, Benin and Côte d’Ivoire.

Guardian Global Resources has since expanded its operations and is now a multi-services company with a global reach. Today, Guardian offers security and risk management, support and training services to multi-national corporations, high-net-worth individuals and governments worldwide.
