Mystery shrouds abduction of 2 boats, 12 fishermen

AHMEDABAD: The abduction of two boats along with 12 fishermen onboard by the Pakistan Marine Security Agency (MSA) on January 3 is shrouded in mystery.

Despite 48 hours since the abduction, neither the Indian Coast Guard nor the fishermen associations in Saurashtra seem to have any clue about the whereabouts of the abducted fishermen. Normally, whenever Indian fishermen are taken away by MSA, the Pakistani counterpart of Indian Coast Guard, inform the National Fish Workers Forum (NFF) in Porbandar or the fishermen association of the place from where the abducted belong.

None of the associations has been communicated about the status of the 12 fishermen.
