Pirate fishers let go by the New Zealand navy have been found again, this time operating off Australia’s Antarctic Mawson base.

The ships Yongding and Kunlun were intercepted on Monday by the searching Sea Shepherd ship Sam Simon. They appeared to be fishing nearly three weeks after the NZ Navy was forced to drop its pursuit.

The fishers flew the flag of Equatorial Guinea, despite the African state’s denial that they were registered to it, and they had prohibited gillnet fishing gear on the ships’ decks, Sea Shepherd said.
