Sea Pirates: Navy Nabs 7 Suspects In Rivers State

The Nigerian Navy Forwarding Operating Base (FOB) in Bonny, Rivers State, has arrested seven men, suspected to be sea pirates.
Sea piracy has been a problem to commuters in the riverine communities, especially those involved in sea transport in Rivers State.
According to Naval authorities, the suspected sea pirates had been carrying out nefarious operations on the Bonny-Port Harcourt waterways.

Handing over  the suspects to the Nigeria Police in Bonny, the Base Commanding Officer, Navy Captain Hassan Dogara, said the suspects were arrested while robbing the crew of a vessel,  MT Annah.

According to Dogara, items recovered from the suspects included two AK 47 rifles, 90 rounds of ammunition,  nine GSM phones and the sum of N5,800.
