ESPS Galicia Celebrates Spanish Navy Day

On 16 July 2015, crew members from ESPS Galicia celebrated Spanish Navy Day on board with a naval procession of the Holy Carmen Virgin, patron saint of the Spanish Navy, followed by religious ceremonies in the ship’s hangar.

On 16 July 2015, crew members from ESPS Galicia celebrated Spanish Navy Day on board with a naval procession of the Holy Carmen Virgin, patron saint of the Spanish Navy, followed by religious ceremonies in the ship’s hangar.

Later in the day the Spanish Chief of Defence Staff, General Admiral Fernando García Sánchez and other senior officers from the Spanish military visited the ship.

During his visit General Admiral Sánchez thanked the crew for their outstanding service. “You have almost reached the half-way point in your counter-piracy deployment and I am in no doubt that you will continue to work as hard in the second half. Feel proud of your work, and remember that you are representing the Spanish Navy.”
