Navy to deploy new ratings to boost security operations
Nigerian Navy has revealed plans to deploy new ratings in strategic locations for the purpose of internal security operations across the country.
Flag Officer Commanding, FOC, Eastern Naval Training Command, Rear Adm. Atiku Abdulkadir, announced the plan during trainees’ obstacle crossing demonstration at the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School in Onne, Rivers State, yesterday.
Abdulkadir said some of the trainees would be deployed in what he called “choke points” at sea and creeks in a bid to stop oil theft, piracy and pipeline vandalism.
