House Summons JTF, NNPC, Others over Illegal Refineries in Niger Delta

The House of Representatives on Tuesday opened investigations into the  activities of the Joint Task Force (JTF) over the destruction and burning of equipment seized from illegal refineries’ operators  in the Niger Delta.

The ad hoc committee in charge of the investigations has summoned the JTF, management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) as well as representatives of the affected communities to appear before it.
