Weapons ‘missing’ from floating armoury

Majority recovered, says AGMS.

‘Over 170 Government weapons went missing from 2009 and 2013’

Avante Garde Employees Association Media Spokesman and former Manager of Commercial Vessel Protection, Lt Col (retd) Nilantha Jayaweera said yesterday that that 178 weapons belonging to the Sri Lankan government went missing between 2009 and 2013.

He said that these weapons went missing at the hands of Sri Lanka Navy. He said that the Avante Garde Maritime Services Limited succeeded in recovering 167 out of 178 weapons belonging to the Government with much difficulty after 2013 and they were handed over to the Sri Lankan Government.
