Marine insurers wary of increasing piracy risk

Marine insurers are set to engage with shipowners and charterers over what is being seen as a rising tide of piracy across the world.

Underwriters are increasingly concerned that the maritime market is letting its guard down over the issue, as the efforts of the naval taskforce in the Gulf of Aden and off the coast of Somalia has reduced incidents of piracy.
