Somali pirate kingpin surrenders to authorities
Mogadishu (dpa) – One of Somalia’s top pirates surrendered Monday to the authorities with hundreds of his men, officials said.
Mohamed Osman Mohamud, alias Mohamed Garfanje, was known for seizing vessels to obtain ransom money, as well as for the 2012 kidnapping US journalist Michael Scott Moore, who was released after 977 days.
