Delta fishermen fury
Bayelsa and Rivers plan bloody attack on armed foreign fishing trawlers.
Local fishermen living in the coastal communities of the Niger Delta region have planned to launch a bloody attack on foreign fishing trawler operators for allegedly attacking fishermen in the region.
Leadership reports that the aggrieved communities comprised Middleton, Koluama, Fish town, Akassa, Pennington and Brass in Bayelsa and Rivers states.
The aggrieved communities in the letters addressed to the leadership of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) and other security agencies in the region, threatened to engage the foreign fishing trawler owners.
