Sri Lankan Navy earns big bucks from floating armoury trade.

Navy earns Rs. 1,000 million

The Navy said it had earned an income of Rs. 1,000 million since November 13, 2015 from operations, which were provided by the Avant Garde Maritime Services Ltd (AGMSL) earlier.

Issuing a statement to the media yesterday, Sri Lanka Navy Media Unit sources said the Navy had carried out 2,794 moves in Galle and Colombo harbours during the period from November 13, 2015 to April 6, 2016 and earned an income of over Rs. 1,000 million.

“The revenue earned from these operations is directly deposited in the Consolidated Fund of the Government,” the statement said.
