Niger Delta militants attack four oil facilities

Following Wednesday’s attack on a major valve at Okan in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Chevron Corporation yesterday said it had shut down about 90,000 barrels a day of its output.

This came as a group, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), which claimed responsibility for the Okan attack, yesterday said it had sabotaged three additional platforms located in Makaraba, Otunana and Abiteye.

It was gathered that the economic implication of the attack indicated that nation’s oil production had hit its lowest ebb in 20 years occasioned by the recurring attacks on oil facilities by Niger Delta militants.
