Argentina seeks counter-piracy solutions

The Argentine ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence have begun working on a contingency plan for counter-piracy efforts, as local companies exporting to Asia and Africa have increasingly complained about attacks on their shipping vessels.

The main threats are located in the South China Sea and near the Nigerian coast, according to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Argentine ships carry agricultural products to China and petroleum from Africa to Argentina.
