President appears at EU conference.
President of Seychelles to address maritime security at ‘Our Ocean’ conference in Malta
(Seychelles News Agency) – President Danny Faure will be attending the fourth ‘Our Ocean’ conference in Malta, State House said on Wednesday.
The conference, which is being held under the theme ‘An Ocean for Life,’ will be hosted by the European Union from October 5 – 6.
Faure will address the panel session on maritime security, which is on the agenda for the first time, on Thursday afternoon.
Other panel sessions of the conference will focus on marine pollution, marine protection and climate-related impacts on the ocean.
Since 2014, ‘Our Ocean’ conference has invited world leaders to make high-level commitments and transform challenges facing the ocean into an opportunity for cooperation, innovation and entrepreneurship.
The conference seeks to inspire and empower a new generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists and civil society to identify solutions and commit to actions for safe, secure, clean and sustainably managed oceans.
