Soldier killed, 2 wounded in clash with Abu Sayyaf

ZAMBOANGA CITY: A government soldier was killed and two others were wounded after fierce clashes on Monday with suspected Abu Sayyaf gunmen in Tipo-Tipo town in Basilan.

The fighting broke out in Barangay Badja in Tipo-Tipo, a known stronghold of the Abu Sayyaf and the larger Moro Islamic Liberation Front which forged an interim peace deal with the government in 2014.
