Asian countries join US-led maritime exercises in PH

One hundred local and foreign maritime law enforcement officers from eight Asian countries gathered in Manila Monday to start a weeklong exercises to counter common maritime security threats prevalent in the ASEAN region.

The maritime exercise — Southeast Asia Cooperation and Training (SEACAT) — aims to address maritime threats such as illegal fishing, smuggling, illegal drug and human trafficking.
