Pirates Attack Two Vessels At Brass Route

The International Maritime Bureau (IMB), Piracy Reporting Centre has said that armed pirates attempted to attack two ships in two separate incidents off Nigeria, last week.

The IMB report said that on January 24, 2019, a product vessel tanker was fired upon while underway, around 35 nautical miles south of Brass, Nigeria. The report said a general alarm was raised, non-essential crews mustered in citadel and vessel conducted evasive manoeuvres. Due to the hardening measures, the pirates moved away.
