Strike Blocks Container Trucks at Barcelona Port

March 12-15 2019: The autonomous container transporters of the port of Barcelona started their first day of work stoppages, with slow marches of trucks in the morning and in the afternoon.

The drivers’ strike, grouped in Sintraport and scheduled until Friday, paralysed the entry and exit of container trucks from the port of Barcelona, although the port terminals could operate the ships normally.

The five days of stoppages convened by Sintraport have been organised as a protest to the long waiting times in the terminals and warehouses, the responsibility of the carrier to check the condition of the containers and the precarious situation of the sector.
