Tanker Targeted in Attempted Robberies Twice in One Week in Lagos

March 24 & 30: Six days apart, the same oil and chemical tanker was targeted in robberies in Lagos. In the first incident, during the evening of March 24, two perpetrators successfully boarded the vessel while it was anchored at a secured anchorage area in Lagos. Crew discovered the perpetrators and alerted the Nigerian Navy, who arrested the suspects. However, 70 MT of cargo was reported stolen.

Six days later, in the early morning of March 30, two offenders were spotted on the same vessel while it was conducting a ship-to-ship operation. The perpetrators escaped empty handed after being discovered.
