Armed Robbery Aboard Bulk Carrier at Conakry Anchorage in Guinea

May 14: Four unauthorised persons, armed with an unspecified number of automatic rifles and knives, boarded a bulk carrier at Conakry Anchorage in Guinea at approx. 01:42 UTC. They proceeded to temporarily take the crew hostage, rob the crew and steal ship and crew money and property before escaping. The Captain was reportedly injured during the incident (current condition unreported.) The incident was reported to the Conakry Port Control and a patrol boat was sent to the area for investigation.
