Ships’ Stores Stolen Aboard Tanker Anchored in Port Matadi, the Congo

April 28: Two unauthorised persons armed with long knives boarded a product tanker anchored at Ango-Ango Inner Anchorage in Port Matadi, the Congo. They proceeded to break into the forecastle store at approx. 05:04 UTC. Duty watch keeper spotted them and notified the OOW. Alarm raised, and crew mustered. Upon hearing the alarm, the unauthorised persons escaped with stolen ship’s stores of unspecified value. No violence reported.
