Armed Robbery With Minor Injury Aboard Bulk Carrier Underway Near Pulau Damar, Indonesia

July 21: At approx. 19:25 UTC seven persons armed with a pistol and knives approached the bulk carrier CK BLUEBELL (IMO #IMO9595876) aboard a small coastal patrol boat. They boarded the bulk carrier while it was underway using a ladder attached with a hook. The master and second officer were temporarily taken hostage, tied up and assaulted by the pirates (with two CM sustaining unspecified minor injuries). The unauthorized persons stole cash and crew personal belongings worth approx. $13,000 USD before escaping. Incident reported to Korean Authorities.
