MDAT-GoG Biannual Report Published and Available

July 09: MDAT-GoG has released their biannual report, covering January – June 2019.

It states that 53 events have been reported to MDAT-GoG for the first part of 2019, with the most common type of incidents reported including attack (27%), theft (25%), and hijack – kidnap (17%). February had by far the most number of incidents reported thus far (15), followed by March (11), with fewer incidents thus far reported in June and July (although this could certainly be attributed to less time having passed for late reports to come in.) Within the Gulf of Guinea, by far the most incidents occurred off Nigeria.
