Small Protest Over Chinese Maritime Survey Dispersed Outside of Chinese Embassy in Hanoi

August 06: On 6 August 2019, Vietnamese police officers dispersed a demonstration outside the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi. Approximately 10 demonstrators gathered to protest against an ongoing Chinese maritime survey in Vietnam’s Exclusive Economic Zone. Police officers dispersed the protest approximately 20 minutes after it began, and there were no reports of arrests.
