Theft Aboard Bulk Carrier at Sandakan Port, Malaysia

August 27 12:25 UTC: During routines round at Sandakan Port, a duty AB onboard a berthed bulk carrier noticed two unauthorized persons on the forecastle and raised the alarm. Seeing alerted crew, the unauthorized persons jumped overboard and escaped in a boat alongside the vessel with another person. Upon investigation, ship’s properties reported stolen. Incident reported to local police.
