Fishing Vessel Attacked and Boarded At Entrance of Wouri River, Cameroon

October 13, 00:10 UTC: On the 13th October 2019 at 0010UTC a fishing vessel was attacked by an unknown number of pirates onboard a speed boat at the entrance of Wouri river in position 03°52N, 009°28E. The pirates managed to board the vessel but the embarked Armed Security Team confronted them. Gunfire was exchanged with damage caused to the hull of the fishing vessel. There were no casualties among the crew and onboard security team. However, 2 pirates were hit and fell in their speed boat resulting in the speed boat withdrawing from the scene. A third pirate jumped into the water. The status of the 3 attackers remains unknown.
