Greek Authorities Seize 1.2 Tons of Marijuana and Arrest 4 Following High-Speed Chase At Sea

October 01: Greek authorities have seized over 1 ton of marijuana and arrested four citizens suspected of being part of a Albania-Turkey narcotics trafficking network. The seizure came after a high-speed chase on the Aegean, with both speedboats used by the suspects also confiscated.

Narcotics were discovered on Monday on the Piperi Island of the Aegean sea, packed in boxes and hidden in a small cave along the island’s coast. Reports were unclear whether this consisted of marijuana, heroin (which the network is believed to also have been involved in trafficking), or a combination of the two.
