935kg Cocaine Seized at Brazilian Port of Itajaí; Destined for Antwerp

January 16: Some 935 kilograms of cocaine were intercepted on Thursday in the Brazilian port city of Itajaí. The drugs were hidden between mortar and were destined for the port of Antwerp. It is the second largest Brazilian narcotics seizure for Antwerp in 2020.

When opening the container, the customs authorities noted that the products were stacked rather oddly. When opening the cargo to be exported, the cocaine packed in mortar was noticed. The catch was made during a major joint action by customs and the Brazilian federal police.
