£1.7m Worth of Cocaine Seized From Under Timber on Lorry At Port of Hull; Suspect Arrested

January 22: A lorry driver has been arrested at the port of Hull after 21kg of cocaine (worth approx. £1.7m) was discovered in three packages under a load of timber on the truck. The truck had arrived at the port via ferry from Zeebrugge, Belgium. The driver was arrested, pleaded guilty, and subsequently sentenced to over eight years imprisonment.
