Malaysian Police Arrest Suspect For Smuggling RM1mil of Methamphetamines From Indonesia

March 14: A suspected narcotics trafficker ferrying over RM1mil in drugs hidden inside tyres of a boat was arrested by the Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department.

“A General Operation Force team in Tawau, Sabah stopped the boat on March 14 that had come from Nunukan, Indonesia. Checks on the boat led to the discovery of four tyres that were used to hide 20 packages of what is believed to be syabu [methamphetamines].“Around 21.19kg of the drugs were seized, with an estimated value of RM1,166,460,” said department director Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani in a statement on Sunday (March 15).

The suspect has been remanded until March 21 at Tawau police headquarters.
