2nd Oil & Gas Security Summit

June 12, 2013 - June 13, 2013

The 2nd Oil & Gas Security Summit  will be looking closely at security issues around all aspects of preventing and mitigating security threats to both offshore and onshore oil and gas infrastructure, assets and personnel, which may arise from civil unrest, terrorist activities, theft, sabotage and piracy. It will include topics on security issues specific to high risk/developing regions, best practices for protecting both static and mobile energy assets, avoiding and mitigating sabotage, maritime security updates & overview of present piracy threat and will included panels discussions on improving crisis management and evacuation plans. The Summit itself will take place on the 12th—13th of June, in a 5* central London hotel, please do look at the website for this summit here http://www.oilgassecurity.com/

In light of the recent In Amenas hostage crisis and the growing instability in some key MENA oil producing regions we will address anti-terrorism in depth at this summit. We will have one session on the In Amenas hostage crisis which I can confirm will be given by the Head of the Crisis Centre at the French Foreign Office, who oversaw the French response to this crisis and was in touch with French hostages throughout the incident. I am also in communication with a number of British citizens that were held up as hostages in the plant and would like one of them to attend the summit to talk about the security practices, how effectively they worked in a hostage situation and any perceived weak points. I believe it could be a very interesting and topical discussion for you and others in your role to attend and engage with.
