Chennai: Two days after the Indian Coast Guard intercepted an American merchant ship carrying arms off the coast of Tamil Nadu, an FIR under the Arms act has been registered. The case will now be transferred to the Tuticorin Marine Police who will question the crew.

Authorities have refused to divulge details of the arms procured from the crew but have confirmed that they did not have the necessary documents.
