Navy receives new warship to combat oil theft, piracy

The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Cross River State, on Friday received a new warship to combat oil theft sea piracy and other crimes in waterways.

The command received the ship called the NNS Centenary, to its fleet on Friday in Calabar during the visit of the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, who was on ground to receive it at the NNS Victory jetty. The CNS said the ship, which was the newest in the Navy fleet, was designed to combat crime on waterways.
