New OPV for Mauritius

The National Coast Guard has a new patrol boat, the CGS Victory, made in India.

New patrol vessel, the CGS Victory, will be hitting the Mauritian waters next month. It is meant to preserve maritime security from pirates, drug trafficking, illegal fishing, terrorists, and other criminals. 50-metre-long, it is equipped with automatic weapons.

It was acquired yesterday, September 26. During an official ceremony in India, Mauritian Assistant Commissioner Krishna Jhugroo thanked the Indian government and Goa Shipyard Ltd for their assistance pertaining to the transaction.
