Two Tons of Cocaine Seized in Piura, Peru, Destined for US

March 10 2019: Peruvian authorities have seizedĀ 2,134 tons of cocaine hidden in a tanker and arrested seven suspected narcotics traffickers in Sechura (Piura region, Peru). The narcotics traffickers are believed to be a part of a trafficking group named “Simbad”, which consists of both Peruvian and Mexican nationals and is active in northern parts of Peru.The shipment was scheduled to go to the United States, and have an estimated street value of about $61 mn USD.
