Cargo Theft Aboard Tanker at Deendayal Anchorage, India
| May 09: At approx. 22:10 LT while the tanker ARIONAS was anchored at Deendayal Anchorage in India, seven unarmed, unauthorized individuals boarded the tanker from on board a red boat (type unspecified; likely a skiff.) The assailants proceeded to the midship starboard from the bow. They then stole two pieces of 10” x 12” “cargo reducers” from midship starboard side manifold area. The master raised the alarm, sounded the ship’s whistle, mustered the crew and reported the incident to the ship’s agent, Marine Police, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Kandla port authority. |
