Theft Aboard Research Vessel at Pointe Noire Anchorage, the Congo

October 08, 22:40 UTC: Master onboard a research vessel anchored at Pointe Noire Anchorage, the Congo (Posn: 04:45.4S – 011:49.7E) heard a sound near the forward and noticed one unauthorized person onboard on the forecastle. Master shouted and the person escaped on board a small wooden fishing vessel without an engine, where an accomplice was waiting. Emergency alarm raised and crew mustered. Ship stores were stolen.
