Naval Damage Control

October 7, 2014 - October 9, 2014

With the increase in naval platform cost and the expansion of automation aboard vessels, it is essential that best practise surrounding Damage Control & Fire Fighting (DC&FF) can be frequently examined and dissected. This enables much needed multi-national information sharing which means that latest lessons learned can be adopted by all stakeholders.

Between the 7th to the 9th October 2014, Naval Damage Control (NDC) will provide the international maritime community the opportunity to share innovations in both technology and procedure in a focused and dedicated learning environment.

NDC 2014, which is now in its second year, will attract an audience consisting of senior and influential naval and maritime personnel from a host of major nations.

The key discussion points will be the very latest issues surrounding all aspects of DC & FF including:

• Fire prevention, detection and suppression

• Training and Simulation

• Damage Control systems

• Civilian Agency co-operation

• Flood prevention

• Subsurface DC

• Commercial shipping capabilities and developments

NDC 2014, organised by The Development Network, a well-known UK based defence event organiser, has a host of flagship events and is often seen as one of the most influential organisations for those wishing to decide upon the future of their maritime security policies. By continuing NDC in 2014, The Development Network will strive to bring renewed focus on the DC & FF arena.

High on the agenda at this year’s meeting will be subsurface DC, innovations in fire suppression systems, automation aboard large vessels, and casualty considerations during an incident.
