Location:
Chatham House, London

Participants:
The Hon Jean Paul Adam, Foreign Minister, Republic of Seychelles
The Hon Joel Morgan, Minister for Home Affairs, Environment, Transport and Energy, Republic of Seychelles

Seychelles is increasingly important to counter-piracy efforts in the Indian Ocean, and other countries, including the UK, are working with the government of Seychelles in support of a number of measures. In this meeting ministers Adam and Morgan, who are in London to attend the London Conference on Somalia, will explain how their government is tackling piracy on a number of fronts – from active patrolling to judicial measures. They will also outline views of how a regional response to the governance challenges in Somalia may contribute to tackling the root of the threat from piracy.
